What is the ICVCM?

Modified on Mon, 29 Apr at 12:02 PM

The Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) is an independent governance body for the voluntary carbon market, which aims to maximise its potential to finance climate solutions.

We enable a high-integrity voluntary carbon market that contributes to the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We do this by setting and enforcing a global benchmark for high-quality carbon credits – the Core Carbon Principles (CCPs).

High-integrity carbon credits can unlock urgently needed finance to reduce and remove emissions that would not otherwise be viable, and ensure the voluntary market generates significant economic and sustainable development benefits, helping people and the planet.
